We charge for each storage room, storage container, office or warehouse space, monthly in advance by charging your debit or credit card.
We also charge a one off security deposit which is dependant on the size of storage you are renting. This will be refunded when you leave your rental empty and return the lock / keys we provided.

If you rent an outside shipping container we DO NOT insure your contents.
We suggest you contact your household or commercial insurer who should be able to add an ‘offsite’ policy to your main insurance for a small fee.

Insurance & Contents Cover
We insure our buildings, but you need to cover the contents of the rooms, offices or warehouses your rent from us.
We insist you either have your own insurance, or take out our contents cover policy.
If you take our contents policy, you will be charged for basic level cover which covers up to £1000 worth of goods and costs £10+VAT per month. There are higher levels of cover if you require them and this is all clear when you make a booking.
You will ONLY be insured for goods you itemise on Contents Cover List. When you have made a booking, you will be able to find your contents cover list in ‘My Account’ on the website next to your subscription for your rental. PLEASE KEEP THIS LIST UP TO DATE AT ALL TIMES

VAT is charged at 20% on all rentals, however there is no VAT on deposits
Generally customers to pay only 1 months rental in advance, however we offer larger discounts for customers wishing to pay rental upfront for longer periods:
- 15% off – For 12 months rental in advance
- 5% off – For 3 months rental in advance
We cannot refund long term rental if you decide to vacate your storage, office or warehouse before the end of the advance payment period.
You will be given the option to choose your payment plan whilst making your booking and we can always change your plan at a later date if you want to if you change your main. Please note however. We cannot refund long term rental if you decide to vacate your storage, office or warehouse before the end of the advance payment period.
Deposits are not included in any discounts.
Multi Rental Discounts
For customers who take 2 or more rentals (in any combination) we also offer a further 10% discount too.
We apply these to your account automatically when you have two or more rooms, containers, office or warehouses, or any combination!

Business Rates & VAT
If you are a business, please note that you will not pay business rates when you rent from us. We pay business rates so that you don’t have to!
Grey Box Self Storage is VAT registered and all prices exclude VAT which will be charged at 20% (with the exception of deposits, which have no VAT added).
Our VAT registration number is GB406204735.
Invoices and orders
You can log on to your account on our website with the email address you originally used to set up your account. All orders are listed in the ‘My Account’ section of the website, where you can also find downloadable invoices for anything we have charged to you.
Price changes
We will always give you fair notice if we need to change the rental charges of any products we sell.
All customers will receive notice at least 30 days before their next rental payment is due.
Security Deposit Refunds
We charge a security deposit on each rental. We hold this deposit whilst you remain a customer of Grey Box Self Storage.
When you vacate your rental, leaving it empty and returning any locks and keys, we will refund the full amount to the payment method you use to pay for your rental. Refunds are made within 30 days of your vacation date.
What happens if I don’t pay my bills?
Please always talk to us if you don’t think you will be bale to pay your bill and we will always try and help.
We charge your payment method automatically for your monthly or regular subscriptions and if your payment method does not work, we will imediatley email you. We will do this several times and all you need to do is log onto your account and change your payment method for one that works and has enough funds.
If you do not contact us for help and your payment method keeps failing, we do apply administration charges to recover the debt. We will also restrict access to your rental until all fees and subscriptions and paid in full.
