FAQs: Contents Protection & Insurance

If you rent a shipping container then we DO NOT insure your contents.

We offer a contents cover policy for Storage Rooms, Office and Warehouses is compulsory for our site at Coventry Exhall and is ordered at the time you place your order for a storage room.

A charge is applied each time you pay (monthly, 3 monthly or 12 monthly) dependent on the value of your contents.

Contents cover for Store Rooms, Offices and Warehouse costs the following and you can choose this when you make a booking

Up to £100 worth of contents cover – FREE OF CHARGE

Up to £1000 worth of contents cover – £10 + VAT per month*

Up to £2000 worth of contents cover – £15 + VAT per month

Up to £10,000 worth of contents cover – £35 + VAT per month

PLEASE NOTE – you will need to complete and keep up to date a contents list if you purchase contents cover. This can be done on our website and full instructions will be provided when you rent from us in your confirmation email.

If you have your own commercial or home insurance insurance policy, then we can accept this and we will charge a £5 + VAT administration fee only every month. .

WE MUST see the following descriptions on your insurance policy for us to accept the cover

  • Actual physical loss of or damage to our customers’ property caused by fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, aircraft or articles dropped there from
  • Storm, flood, bursting &/or leaking pipes, ingress of water or other liquid substance
  • Moth, insect or vermin from an external cause
  • Theft accompanied by forcible and violent entry to or exit from the building or storage unit
  • Riot, strike, civil commotion, malicious damage
  • Impact by vehicle
